About LOKAL in B'bos


We are honoured to share our food with you over a long lengthy lunch in an exceptional location.

LOKAL in B’bos started in 2015 as a pop-up restaurant, featuring a collaboration between chef Suzi Holtzhausen, and LOKAL owners, Lainy & Stanley Carpenter.  LOKAL in B’bos opens more or less at the end of every calendar month, depending on other work and travel commitments.  Inspiration for the menu and dining experience is drawn from travel, life experiences, and the harvest that the lunar planted LOKAL garden offers us.

True Provenance

Suzi, Lainy & Stanley are all passionate about the provenance of all the ingredients used at LOKAL, and observe a seasonal, local and sustainable approach to ingredient selection for the menus.  The restaurant itself has a large vegetable garden and  orchard, and wherever possible which provides many of the core ingredients for the unique menus.  The balance of the ingredients are sourced from local farms and markets, and sustainably farmed fish, poultry & meats.  The focus on local suppliers also extends to the wine list which heroes local small producers, including the family vineyard, B’Bos Wines.

Oh, and our kitchen and venue are completely off the grid.

Visiting Us


Dates either side of planned occasions are possible. We are able to accommodate 14 persons at 1 table and up to 40 inside the venue. If you were to select an unscheduled date we would need a minimum number of 25 covers.  Please contact us to discuss further.
